Papers of Washington Irving [manuscript], 1813, 1830, n.d.

The collection contains a notebook "Book of Cures for Man etc 17th March 1803" containing accounts, recipes and remedies. There are three hands, two of which closely resemble those of William Irving and John Treat Irving. The collection also contains a facsimilie of a letter from Walter Scott to Henry Brevoort, 1813 April 23, in praise of Irving's "Knickerbocker's history of New York": and a letter from Richard Cuttermole to Irving, 1830 April 5, announcint the award of the Gold Medal of the Royal Socity of Literature to Irving.

Washington Irving (b. April 3, 1783, New York City-d.
